Arteta provides update on Tomiyasu injury ahead of Arsenal’s game at Luton tonight.

  • Mikel Arteta confirms Takehiro Tomiyasu’s fitness must be checked ahead of Luton Town game.
  • Tomiyasu injured his calf in the 2-1 win over Wolves last weekend.
  • Ben White ready to return to the starting lineup again if Tomiyasu is not ready to play.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed he must check Takehiro Tomiyasu’s fitness ahead of the team’s Premier League trip to Luton Town on Tuesday night.

“We took him off as a precaution [in the win against Wolves] so we will wait and see if we need to use him. We will decide tomorrow,” Arteta told https://ufabet999.com

“He’s a strong player and hopefully he’ll be ready to play.”

Tomiyasu has started each of Arsenal’s last four league matches, but suffered a calf injury in the 2-1 win over Wolves last weekend.

However, if Tomiyasu is truly not ready to play, there is still Ben White who is ready to return as a starter again. After recovering from injury, he played as a reserve for the last 3 games.

“Definitely, after the injury and the way we managed his playing time. He feels fully fit again,” Arteta added.

“He has played some games before. So he’s in good shape.”
